Gin & Allan | Smiley Happy Face!
Toronto Weddings , May 15, 2011
My first wedding of 2011 couldn’t have been better. I was first contacted by Gin and Allan only two weeks before the wedding. When I was last in Toronto over Easter we met at Futures, my favourite place to get a slice of cake back when I was at UofT. I thought 2 weeks was cutting it close, but these two were so chill about the whole affair. That’s what I love about them. They never let any stress get to them. Even if things weren’t going the way they planned the night before, they just let it slide because they knew that the most important thing was that their friends and family had a good time.
Gin and Allan had a nice simple wedding. Less than 50 of their closest family and friends. I’ve noticed that the B+G always rave about small weddings and they always seem to have the best experience. It’s hard to pull off a small guest list, but if you can, go for it!
We started the day at Tiomi’s place, a friend of Gin and fantastic freelance Make-Up artist. Gin was cool as a cucumber and Tiomi taught me about eyelash glue 🙂 I also provided some housecleaning services, hahaha! 😉
Check out Gin’s phone. It’s a blast from the past!! It’s like Zach Morris version2! I can’t believe it still works.
What a gorgeous couple! After they were ready, we headed around the corner for their “First Look”. I’ve never spent a lot of time in this area of Dundas but I love it! Murals and graffiti everywhere!!!
You can clearly see these two have fun-lovin’ attitudes.
After all the family and friends gathered we headed into City Hall for the ceremony.
Right after the ceremony we took a stroll to Rosewater Supper Club for their lunch reception. On the way the guests went nuts with the bubble makers.
Gin and Allan went all out with cute little details at the restaurant. I especially loved the guestbook, which was a canvas. I was very happy when they asked me to add to the guestbook. I love painting!
Rosewater Supper Club was such a beautiful location for a reception, with a great staff.
The candy table was a hit! It had everything. Cracker Jacks, Bazooka Joes, Coke bottle gummies … I haven’t seen these things since … since … since the last time I saw someone with Gin’s phone!
I had such a great time with these two. We were only in contact for two weeks, but I’m very glad they found me and I was a part of their day. I only wish I could have stayed longer. Best wishes to the both of you!
