Zari + Pedro | A Ritz Carlton Montreal Wedding
International Weddings , May 3, 2013
The first wedding of the year is always special. We spend the winter months going over the previous year, learning new techniques that we end up dying to try out; but above it all, we are just itching to shoot. So I went into Zari & Pedro’s wedding full of energy and excitement, and now I’m excited to blog about their story.
Z+P are a fantastic couple. I couldn’t have had a better couple to start off the year. Zari is always full of cheer and Pedro reminds me of myself, a man of little words. What I loved about them both was they were very focused on family. I always want to get great photos of the bride and groom, but they were always thinking about spending more time with family and friends and getting photos with them. I was more than happy to facilitate. It was great to see that they never forgot the true importance of their wedding day.
The ceremony was at St Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Cathedral, followed by a reception at the elegant Ritz Carlton. The weather wasn’t really cooperating. Montreal was in the middle of weather bipolarity. A week earlier the temperature was in the teens, then below zero on this day, and back up to the teens the week after. Regardless, they had the greatest venue possible for photos during a cold and rainy day. The Ritz is just georgous! Even if the weather was perfect I still wouldn’t want to miss out on taking some photos in their lobby. An additional benefit is that I live a 5 minute walk away, so heading home afterwards was a breeze. I can only hope to shoot there more often.
Everything was put together by Zari’s sister and wedding planner extraordinaire from N.K. Weddings. Great job Nairy! If anyone needs a wedding planner, get in contact with her fast!
Zari and Pedro run the Ecuries Carignan Stable, just south of Montreal. A great place to ride some horses or even train to do some jumping. Everyone should have a visit. I can’t wait to take my little girl to sit on her first pony. Hopefully she won’t cry like I did when I was young, haha (I have a photo of it). Now that I’m an adult, I’m willing to give it another try. See you two soon!
[…] I love the Ritz mostly because I can walk home after a wedding, but it is gorgeous. Last year I did Zari & Pedro’s wedding there. Place d’Armes is perfectly located in the Old Port and Marie-Michele (in the […]
