Rae + Rob | Dogs and Robots

Oh Rae and Rob, I cannot express how much I am looking forward to this wedding. Firstly, it will be my last wedding of the year and I’m looking to end it in a bang! Secondly, you two are just too too funny.

Before the engagement session started, R+R needed to warn me. “We might be difficult to work with. It’s hard to make us smile”. Truth be told, they were the easiest couple to shoot all year. I didn’t have to do a thing. Like I always say, the look of your photos depend on your personalities, in fact they should reflect your personalities! These two hate to stand in front of a camera and pose and smile. Well that’s just not how I work. I put my couples in a spot and let them interact with each other and see where that takes me. With R+R, they took me to “wacky world”. They are exactly the type of couple I love to shoot. They would immediately make fun of each other, say inappropriate stuff, do silly things, jump on each other … basically constantly making each other laugh. What more can a photographer ask for!

The engagement session was in Mount Royal Park, right next to Beaver Lake. It was a great location because R+R also wanted to include an important family member in the photos … Sheba the chocolate lab.

I had to end with this photo because it makes me laugh every time. Here is R+R doing their robot stance … basically making a mockery of a common trend in wedding photography. I seriously can’t wait for this wedding!
