Janet + Louis | Dub-steppin’
International Weddings , November 8, 2012
It’s rare that I shoot a wedding where I know several of the guests, it makes me want to join in on the party! Mos tof the time I hold in the urge, but when Gangnam Style came on … well, I just couldn’t resist! Oppa Gangnam Style!!! [no, I’m not including the photo of me dancing ;P]
I knew Janet from when we were doing our PhD in the same department at McGill. When she got engaged I was excited that she considered me to cover her wedding. I knew it was going to be gorgeous … and it was. My favourite moment was when Janet & Louis departed from the traditional first dance to a choreographed dubstep number. The crowd went insane!
The day started with Janet and her family at the hair salon, then makeup, and then back at her condo to get ready. Luckily Louis’ hotel was not far so I was able to walk over and cover him getting ready at the same time. Thanks to Janet’s well managed schedule, we made it to the church in time even with a mad scramble to find missing car keys. [Lesson: always keep plenty of buffer time between events during the day].
Even though it was raining we were able to find some great sheltered spots in Old Montreal, one of the most versatile photo locations in Montreal.
