Taste for Life :: Raising funds for Cancer Research

Just a few days ago I had the pleasure of covering a fundraising event for the Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF). It was an event right up my alley, a scientific research charity event with a theme of gourmet food. The scientist and foodie in me rejoice!
The ICRF has played a large role in supporting and raising awareness for cancer research. This night was held in honour of Miriam Sultan Laine, a cancer survivor at the age of 14. Miriam was one of only a few children in North America diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML). Her fight was only possible due to the development of cancer fighting drugs and techniques partially funded through the ICRF. Her story is very moving and absolutely inspiring and you can read more about it in this article.
Entitled “Taste for Life”, the ICRF put together a night of food and fundraising at the always spectacular Espace Reunion.
A silent auction was generously supplied by:
Milos, Bice, Rib ‘N Reef, Bottega, Zante, PF Chang, Elounda, Lucca, Snowdon Deli, California Pizza, and Elixor.
Music was provided by DJ Tiguru and Bar Services by the always amazing Brahm Mauer!
And of course, my favourite part was the variety of vendors providing some delicious food, including:
