2012 | A Year in Review
International Weddings , February 10, 2013
2012 was a huge year me both personally and professionally. It was the first year of little Emma’s life and I am glad to have been able to spend a lot of time with her. It was also my busiest season to date. I had the privilege of witnessing many beautiful weddings, some with cultural traditions I’ve never seen before (such as Egyptian and Hindu ceremonies). One was Beatles-themed and another was all about the 80’s. I was blessed to meet so many people from different walks of life, each unique in their own right, but with a common denominator of love, family, and friends. Every wedding reminds me how lucky I am to take part in the celebrations.
Above all, what I treasure most is the people that are now a part of my life. Many I consider good friends. Some are enjoying the time to travel the world with each other, others are settling into their new homes, and a few are enjoying the miracle of their first baby. I can’t hear enough about what’s new in their lives; and I cherish the support they’ve provided regarding my work and my family.
2013 is going to be just as epic! I plan on covering fewer weddings than 2012 so I can focus on my couples’ experience, provide a quick turnaround time, be more creative, and most importantly spend more time with Emma and Julie. I already know that this year is going to send me further into the outskirts of Quebec, back to Toronto and Ottawa, and even as far as Canada’s prairies.
It’s going to be a good year! But before that, let’s have a look at some of my favourites from the previous one.
