Amanda + Ryan :: Vow Renewal at Auberge St-Gabriel
International Weddings , June 5, 2015
It was my first wedding of the year and I couldn’t have been more pumped to pick up my camera. Over the winter I filled my time with some family sessions, baby shoots, and corporate events. However, for me, it’s always been about weddings!
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick of the season. Amanda and Ryan had their vow renewals last week among their closest family and friends. Yes, vow renewals. These two crazy kids went off and eloped in a rush of romance … you can imagine the reaction of their parents, haha. But it was clear that all everyone wanted was a chance to celebrate and party with these two. And party they did!
Both ceremony and reception were held at the historic Auberge Saint-Gabriel. A very rustic venue dating back as far as the mid-1700s. This place has so much character! Every inch of it was screaming, “instagram me!”
The forecast was calling for thunderstorms all day. 20-30mm of rain it said. But once again Montreal’s weather proved unpredictable and the forecast unreliable. At least this time in our favour! Not only was there barely any rain, there were plenty of clear skies. Perfect for their first look and photo session.
My favourite part of the night? Amanda teaching me how to dougie. haha.
The beautiful decor was put together by the immensely talented Allison from A Belle Affair Weddings and Events. Loved all the candles! DJ Shane kept the crowd laughing. And special thanks to my second shooter Kelvin.
