The Paine Family :: Twins and Lavender

Lifestyle , July 27, 2015

You may recognize Chris Paine’s name from previous blog posts. Chris is a fellow wedding photographer and has joined me for several of my weddings in the last year. When he told us that he was going to be a father we were very excited for him. When he said he would be a father of two, I laughed. haha. Sorry buddy, but good luck. haha. I have two of my own at different ages and it’s hard enough. I can’t even imagine two at the same age! That’s madness!

When the twins were born I was very proud to be the first person to take a photo of them. They were premature and went right into the NICU, so I didn’t get to see them for long. But it was still an honour to be a part of their first day in the world.

A few weeks ago La Maison Lavande was opening late for only one week so photographers can come during golden hour, when the sun is magically low and gorgeous. Chris suggested we go with both our families for a few short mini-sessions. We swapped services for a quick baby shoot (a benefit of knowing many photographers). I am not sure what was harder, shooting young twins that weren’t in the best of moods, or shooting my daughter who wouldn’t stay still for one second. In any case, we both had a great time picnicking in the Lavender fields.
