Mary + Nak | A Day at the Fair

Engaged , May 17, 2013

I almost threw up during this engagement shoot. I kid you not. Note to all photographers … or basically anyone … do not try to take photos while on a ride that spins at ridiculous g-forces. It will not end well. What kept it all in was the idea that it probably would have gotten all over Mary and Nak in the seat behind me, haha. Not a good way to end a photoshoot, haha.

Aside from our ill-advised adventure, the day went great. It’s was surprisingly cold and shockingly windy, but the sun came out for a good portion and we took advantage. We spent a couple of hours at the Fair in LaSalle which was a fantastic idea because of all the colours and games! I even loved the wind. Maybe not everyone feels this way, but the wind adds motion to photos and tells a completely different story. I love the motion of hair flailing around. Things don’t always have to be perfect, that’s what makes it more engaging. [If you agree, let me know in the comments below!]

I was glad to capture these few moments before their wedding day in a few weeks. I hope you enjoy them too.
