Engaged! :: Tal + Jeff

Engaged , July 28, 2011

My first meeting with Tal & Jeff was over the phone. My first phone interview! I was completely out of my comfort zone because I’m not a fan of talking on the phone; I like face-to-face meetings as it allows both sides to show their personalities. Tal and Jeff we super prepared with a list of questions, which is great because it tells me they are serious about choosing their vendors. But it wasn’t until I met them for the engagement shoot that I really got to know them.

We met up at McGill campus where Jeff did his undergrad. Tal is currently at Concordia, so there was a little rivalry going on … including a bit of smack talk by Jeff ;P

The world is a small place. Tal is from Toronto, more specifically the suburbs of Thornhill (my own neighbourhood). She came to Montreal about 4 years ago for her PhD at Concordia; about the same time I came to McGill for my PhD. Both of us are currently enjoying Montreal to its fullest.

We were originally supposed to meet during the one of hottest days Montreal has ever seen. Luckily Tal had the foresight and rescheduled a couple days later when the weather was perfect. In fact I’ve never shot in such perfect weather! Not a cloud in sight and great sunlight along the horizon to work with. It was my first time shooting during the golden hour (when the sun is low giving off a golden shine) and I was like a kid in a candy store playing with the light. One of the reasons I love scheduling photoshoots after 6pm.

Jeff did a great job at making Tal burst out in laughter. Definitely a fun-loving couple.

I love big hugs. The kind that squishes your face. They are the BEST!

Tal and Jeff knew my weakness for ice cream and wanted to treat me. Alas, none were near by so I’ll have to take them up on it next time. ๐Ÿ˜‰
