Catherine + Tim :: an Au Vieux Moulin Wedding

C+T traveled all the way from Australia for their wedding. Not only is planning a wedding from the other side of the world difficult enough, it doesn’t help when your venue cancels on you a couple of months beforehand. I know, right! Crazy! I’ve never heard of such a thing happening and I knew I had to do anything in my power to help. Luckily I’ve met some amazing people in the wedding industry over the years, many of which were eager to lend a helping hand. In the end, she found a new venue that turned out to be more convenient than the old one. Also, when I sent the word out, I found many wedding planners with clients at the same venue that didn’t even know about the cancellations. So at least we helped a few other brides. 🙂

We started the morning with beautiful weather at Chateau Vaudreuil where the whole bridal party got ready. There was champagne, tea bags, and a lot of laughter. Half way through the ceremony in Rigaud the rain started to come down. But I’m never afraid of rain. It rarely rains all day and all we had to do was wait it out. Over at Au Vieux Moulin, the guests enjoyed their cocktails when the sky started to part and the sun came out again. The timing was excellent! The cocktails moved out into the beautiful grounds and we had ample time for photos.

The reception was full of witty banter, hilarious speeches, and goofy dancing. It felt more like a family gathering than anything else. Isn’t that what weddings should all be about? Two families, celebrating, welcoming each other and partying together.
